ECSP1 Project Summary – PrestaShop eCommerce Platform
The ECSP1 – eCommerce Server Platform V1.0 project was carried out by the Byte Builders team, a group of second-year ICT students at JAMK University of Applied Sciences, as part of the Future Factory 2025 course. Commissioned by Gofore and guided by product owner Hanh Nguyen, the project aimed to develop a secure, scalable, and user-friendly online store using the PrestaShop platform.
The team followed an agile development model structured around sprints. The early phases focused on requirement gathering, stakeholder interviews, and UI/UX design, while later sprints covered backend and frontend development, security enhancements, testing, and deployment.
Key outcomes included secure PayPal payment integration, real-time log monitoring, a user-friendly admin dashboard, and proactive security measures through a vulnerability scanning tool. CI/CD pipelines and staging environments supported efficient development and testing workflows.
Despite a few lower-priority features being deferred, all core functionalities were delivered successfully. The project was completed on time, fully documented, and designed for future scalability, reflecting strong teamwork, technical execution, and collaboration with stakeholders.
